Fairly Well
Fairly Well are a Sheffield-based alt rock band I began working with in 2026 as part of a personal project, combining my interest in independent music with digital marketing and content creation.
The collaboration began when I approached the band ahead of their headline show at Yellow Arch Studios in Sheffield and offered to photograph and film their performance.
Following the show, the project developed beyond live photography into creating short-form content and exploring ways to strengthen the band's social media output.

ROLE
Content Creation / Photography / Videography · Editing
TOOLS
Canon EOS 4000D / iPhone 13 / Lightroom · Premiere Pro
DELIVERABLES
Live Photography / 3 Short-Form Videos

The Shoot
Shooting in a small live venue meant working with constantly changing lighting, movement and limited control over the environment. I focused on capturing the energy of the performance while creating a varied collection the band could use across digital channels.

Post-Gig Content Assets
Alongside the photography, I captured vertical video throughout the performance. The footage was repurposed into three short-form edits designed for Instagram Reels/ TikTok after the band had informed me that one of their weak points was short-form content online, experimenting with different approaches to promoting the band's music.

The Output
SHORT-FORM VIDEOS: 3
EDITED PHOTOGRAPHS: 17
EDITED VIDEOS: 3
LIVE SHOOTS: 1
What I Learned
As my first live-music shoot, the project highlighted the importance of shooting with the final content format already in mind.
While editing the short-form videos, I realised I'd captured significantly more footage of the frontman than the other members of the band. On a future shoot, I'd work from a more deliberate shot list covering each member, wider performance shots, crowd interaction, instruments and environmental details.
This would create a larger content bank and significantly more flexibility when producing social-first edits afterwards.
